#AgeUK Suffolk are so proud to be the partner #charity for #ROC24 and the team can't wait to get going. We are NOT runners…that’s the first thing to say; well, not many of us anyway; but our merry band of wannabee #athletes are about to don their #runningshoes and hit the pavements in training for the very first ROC24 at Culford School.
And we also hope to make your #ROC24 experience an extra special one on 1st June by providing support on the course and in the ROC village. So you can expect to see us cheering you on at the AgeUK Water Station and painting a few friendly faces. Glitter anyone??
We will also be reporting back from our event training programme with Dan at #DNAPersonalTraining. We are not sure how many laps of the course that we will manage but I am really looking forward to being part of the team and camaraderie that an event like this creates - alongside hundreds more participants getting together for the same reasons and sharing the experience. As a #localcharity, we passionately believe in improving the lives of people across #Suffolk – exactly the reason why we are taking part in this fantastic event and raising vital funds to support services for older people – and we hope that you will too. With your help, we can provide a lifeline for many of the 17,000 vulnerable older people in Suffolk through our #volunteer #befriendingservice. And when older people’s circumstances change, it can be scary and daunting, not knowing where to turn for advice – our team of knowledgeable advisors are available over the phone too - and can help with direct support and signposting to ensure that everyone receives the help that they are entitled to and deserve. This is why we are taking part in ROC24 and really hope that your team will choose to support #AgeUKSuffolk as well – together we can make a difference to the lives of older people across Suffolk. It's easy to register to support us – just click www.runorcycle.co.uk - and you will be directed to a page where you can register your team to fund-raise for Age UK Suffolk. Thank you for your support, and see you in June! Jo, Lindsay, Jenny, Lucy, Nicola, Becky (and two more people who don’t know they are running yet!)
