We are determined to do something positive for our ROC24 charity partner Age UK Suffolk in 2020, at this difficult and critical time for the elderly, and are thrilled to be able to invite you to take part in a new virtual challenge in support of their "GOOD DAY” call campaign - with a virtual Run Or Cycle Challenge. We hope you can join us?
Age UK Suffolk have never needed our help more, and due to reduced paid-for services and cancelled fundraising activities, need to raise £33k each month to reach the most vulnerable elderly people in Suffolk who will be facing an extended period of isolation and loneliness, through a regular “GOOD DAY” call. This includes checking in to make sure they are okay and well advised, have everything they need - including shopping delivery and prescription collection - and often, simply for a friendly chat.
So together we have created a virtual 'GOOD DAY Run or Cycle Challenge' that anybody can take part in, with a special "GOOD DAY" badge of honour (a fab fridge magnet!) up for grabs.
All you need to do to take part, is post a photo of your activity - whether running or cycling (any distance allowed + treadmills and exercise bikes included) - on the Run Or Cycle Events Facebook Page and, and share it with friends. And with just a small donation of your choice to the GOOD DAY fundraising page Age UK Suffolk will also post you the 'badge of honour' as a memento of your participation.
The challenge is on from NOW till mid-day on Sunday 31st May 2020, which was to be the finish time for this years ROC24. Your support is much appreciated, and the earlier you can get involved, the bigger difference you can make to the "GOOD DAY" campaign. Thank you so much for your support!
NOTE: Please take care and exercise within the government guidelines for exercise during the COVID-19 pandemic. Visit www.gov.uk for more information.
If you would like to set-up your own "GOOD DAY" challenge, with your family, friends or club (a little friendly competition is a great way to get more people involved!), then please do get in touch with the fundraising team at Age UK Suffolk, who will be delighted to help you. We hope that you are able to support our virtual 'GOOD DAY Run or Cycle Challenge' - it really will make a big difference to thousands of lonely and isolated people living in Suffolk.
