WOW.. #ROC24 Suffolk 2019 has come and gone, and created so many treasured memories along the way - all due to the remarkable and extraordinary efforts of event participants, volunteers, partners and supporters. We send you all a huge THANK YOU!
And because of you, we are pleased to confirm that we will be doing it again next year - and we have listened to your feedback to ensure that #ROC24 2020 is even better. More details will be confirmed over the next couple of weeks.. so do keep a lookout on our website and Facebook page for updates.
We wish we could recall all of our tales from 2019 - the triumphs, the tribulations, Keith & Meryl, characters on the course (and at the bar), Elvis, camp site shenanigans, a champions league final, etc - but we haven't got room in this newsletter, so will highlight just a few key items for you (for now)..
And there are more #ROC24 photo's on their way from Rob Simpson, including some Podium shots (thanks to you too Rob), which we will share with you ASAP.
We love our #ROC24 medals.. that were cut from wood and really hope you do too? You may also have seen Sam Gooding-Mathews hand-crafting our trophies from wood at #ROC24 (thanks very much Sam)? If not, have a look at the short film below.
Course marshals are angels.. as we all know, and absolutely critical to the success of any event - and this team especially so, as they keept us all going (especially in the wee small hours). So a massive shout-out to the marshals and anyone else who volunteered during #volunteersweek We will need more angels for future events of course, so please do get in touch if you can help? We are proud.. to support local charity AgeUK Suffolk and are thrilled to report that they raised over £1k at #ROC24, which will go towards helping people who need it most in their later years. We are also pleased to confirm that AgeUK Suffolk will be our charitable partners in 2020 - and they would be delighted to hear from anyone that is able to support them next year. Please CLICK HERE to get in touch with Jo Reeder and the team.
Culford School.. was a stunning location for #ROC24 (we are sure you will agree) and gave us enough challenging routes and beautiful vistas to make our experience extra special. But it is the team behind the scenes who really matter and they pulled-out all the the stops to ensure that the venue was perfect - none more so than Patrick Armstrong. Thank you so much Patrick and Culford School.
It goes without saying.. that #ROC24 just would not have been possible without the support of our Podium Partners and we would like to share our sincere gratitude to Gallagher Car & Van Rentals, DNA Personal Trainers and Hudson Signs.
And finally.. we are planning more exciting events that we can't wait to tell you about. The first of these is a test event on 29th June 2019 called ROC Pier 2 Pier. This running or cycling event starts at Lowestoft and finishes in Felixstowe, and includes lots of beautiful coastal landscape, a foot-ferry crossing + aid-stations in-between. #ROCP2P is a limited entry event for teams up to four people and we only have a few places left, so do be quick if you want in!
